Nourish

Functional Feeding Therapy

How We Can Help

At Nourish, occupational therapy focuses on building the skills children need for positive and functional mealtimes. Feeding involves sensory processing, oral motor skills, coordination, and daily routines. When one of these areas is challenging, eating can become stressful for both children and families.

Using a play-based, child-led approach, Nourish helps children build comfort with food while developing the skills needed to eat confidently.

Areas we support include:

• Sensory sensitivities to food textures, smells, or appearance
• Transitioning from liquids to purees to solid foods
• Developing chewing skills
• Learning to drink from a cups or straw
• Using utensils and self-feeding skills
• Building positive mealtime routines
• Reducing stress around meals for both children and families

Every child is unique, and therapy is individualized to support their comfort, confidence, and independence with food.
