About Nourish

Nourish Functional Feeding Therapy

Nourish is a pediatric, occupational therapy–based feeding practice supporting children who experience selective eating. Feeding is one of the earliest and most meaningful occupations of childhood, and when eating feels challenging, it can impact the entire family. Nourish provides in-home feeding therapy, allowing support to take place in a child’s natural mealtime environment where eating skills are used every day.

Therapy is child-led, play-based, and grounded in evidence-informed practice, with a focus on helping children build comfort, confidence, and functional skills around food. Nourish is SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding–informed, recognizing that eating is a complex sensory, motor, and emotional experience. Rather than expecting children to eat new foods right away, this approach emphasizes gradual interaction with food through play and exploration, such as looking at, touching, smelling, and eventually tasting foods.

The goal of feeding therapy at Nourish is not simply to increase the number of foods a child eats, but to support the development of foundational skills that help children feel comfortable, and capable when interacting with a wide variety of foods.

Is Nourish Right for Your Child?

Nourish is a good fit for children who:

  • Are 0–10 years of age

  • Are beginning to or currently self-feeding

  • Show stress, anxiety, or avoidance around food

  • Eat a limited variety of foods or have difficulty tolerating new foods

  • Mealtimes are often described as stressful or challenging

At this time, Nourish does not provide services for children with medically complex feeding needs, tube feeding, or feeding difficulties requiring intensive medical management.

Our Values

At Nourish, therapy is guided by:

  • Child-Led: Sessions respect each child’s unique needs, pace, and readiness

  • Play-Based: Learning and progress happen through play, curiosity, and connection

  • Evidence-Informed: Interventions are grounded in current research and best practice

  • Family-Centered: Caregivers are active partners in the feeding journey

  • Pressure-Free: Safety, trust, and comfort always come before expectations

Our Mission Statement

At Nourish, the goal isn’t to get a child to eat one specific food. It’s to help them build the foundational skills to feel confident and curious around any food they come across.
